Truth is the most fundamental moral category in the universe. "The truth shall make you free" from the bondage of self deception and sin (John 8:32).
Truth is regenerational: "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures" (James 1:18). Faithful believers are a testimony to God's grace and power.
Truth transforms: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17).
To make reliable decisions we need the truth. Satan is continually working to keep the truth from our understanding. His influence can be seen in the godless presuppositions now prominent in public education, the media, and the arts. These presuppositions dramatize the deceptive "feel good" emotions, capturing and exploiting those who hold to them. This dangerous and destructive pattern is not a new one, but has existed since the fall of man recorded in Genesis. "Professing themselves to be wise, they . . . changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever . . . They did not like to retain God in their knowledge" (Romans 1:22, 25, 28a).
